Preplanter is an agricultural service platform based in Pune, Maharashtra, India. We provide smart farm installation services for homes, cloud farming plant sponsorships at partner farms, a curated Plant Shop, and a digital platform to track and manage your farm activity.

When you register or sign in, we collect your name and email address. If you use Google Sign-In, we receive your name, email address, and a unique Google account identifier ("sub ID") from Google's OAuth service. We store the sub ID to support Google's Cross-Account Protection programme (see Section 7).
We collect records of Precoin purchases, plant sponsorships, harvest credits, XP and level progression, artifact unlocks, and home garden service orders. This includes payment reference IDs from Razorpay or NOWPayments (but not your card or bank details — those are held solely by the payment processor).
When you place a Plant Shop order, we collect your name, email, phone number, delivery address, city, and pincode to process payment and deliver your order. Your phone number, address, city, and pincode are encrypted at rest. This information is also used, where necessary, to place and complete the corresponding order with our nursery/garden supply sourcing partner for fulfillment (see Section 8).
When you book a farm assessment or garden installation, we collect your name, phone number, email, and property address to schedule and carry out the site visit. This information is used solely to deliver the service.
If you join the agent programme, we collect payout information (bank/UPI details you provide) to process commission payments. Referral codes and the customers who use them are recorded to calculate your commission tier.
If you contact us, book a consultation, or place an order, your name and phone number may be used to send you transactional WhatsApp messages (booking confirmations, order updates) via Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, and to alert our team of your enquiry. This is governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy in addition to this one.
We collect technical data automatically, including your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages visited, and timestamps. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate usage patterns.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your personal data for targeted advertising.
INR payments for Precoins and Plant Shop orders alike are processed by Razorpay Financial Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Crypto payments (Precoins only) are processed by NOWPayments. Your card details, bank credentials, or crypto wallet information are entered directly into the payment processor's interface and governed by their privacy policies. Preplanter receives only a transaction reference ID and confirmation status — we never store your full card number, CVV, bank password, or private keys.
For financial compliance and dispute resolution, we retain transaction records (amounts, dates, reference IDs, Precoin credits issued) for a minimum of seven (7) years as required under Indian financial regulations.
When you sign in with Google, we receive only your name, email address, and Google account sub ID from Google's OAuth service. We do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, Contacts, Calendar, Photos, or any other Google services beyond basic account authentication. We do not share your Google account information with third parties for marketing purposes.
We store your login session in your browser's local storage using a secure JWT (JSON Web Token) that expires after 24 hours. Google Analytics (GA4) sets cookies for aggregate usage statistics — not personal profiling, not advertising tracking. You can opt out of Google Analytics via the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking.
Preplanter participates in Google's Cross-Account Protection programme (RISC). If Google detects a significant security event on your Google account — such as a password change, account compromise, or session revocation — Google may send a signed security notification to Preplanter. Upon receiving this, Preplanter will automatically invalidate your current login session, requiring you to sign in again. This protects your wallet and data from unauthorised access. Your Precoin balance and platform data are not deleted — only your active session is ended.
Third-party vendors who help us operate the Platform (payment processors, cloud hosting, email delivery, Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform for transactional messaging, and analytics). These parties process data on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
For cloud farming, we share limited operational data (species sponsored, planting date, quantity) with partner farms to coordinate planting and harvest. We do not share your personal contact details with partner farms.
Our installation team (including any third-party contractors) will receive your name, phone number, and property address solely to carry out the installation visit.
To fulfill and deliver a Plant Shop order, your name, delivery address, phone number, and ordered items are provided to our nursery/garden supply sourcing partner as part of placing and shipping that specific order — limited to what is necessary to complete delivery.
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or lawful governmental request. We will notify you where legally permitted.
If Preplanter is acquired or its assets are transferred to another entity, your data may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Some of our service providers process data outside India — for example, Google Analytics (Google LLC) and Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta Platforms, Inc.) may process technical or communication data on servers located outside India as part of providing their service to us. Where personal data is transferred outside India, we rely on our service providers' own data protection safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) and only work with providers we reasonably believe maintain a comparable level of protection to that required under Indian law.
As of the date of this policy, the Central Government has not notified a restricted list of countries under Section 16 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If such a notification is issued and affects our service providers, we will update this policy accordingly.
We intentionally allow well-behaved AI assistant and AI search crawlers (such as those operated by Anthropic, OpenAI, Perplexity, and Google) to read our publicly published marketing pages, so AI assistants can accurately answer questions about Preplanter. This access is limited strictly to public marketing content — it never includes your account data, wallet balance, order history, or any other personal information. See Section 11 of our Terms of Service for the rules governing this and other automated access.

If we become aware of a personal data breach that is likely to affect you, we will take reasonable steps to contain and assess the breach without undue delay. Where required under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and inform affected users, describing the nature of the breach, its likely consequences, and the steps we are taking in response.
We retain your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data (name, email, address) within 30 days, except:

We will acknowledge within 24 hours and respond within 30 days. Preplanter is not currently a "Significant Data Fiduciary" under the Act and is not statutorily required to appoint a dedicated Data Protection Officer; we will update this policy if that status changes.
This is separate from the Grievance Officer listed in Section 18.1 of our Terms of Service, who handles complaints about Platform content and conduct under the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 — a related but distinct requirement. The Preplanter Platform involves financial transactions and is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have done so, contact us immediately and we will delete that information.
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by sending an email notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
